Location: Calgary, AB | Salary Range:100k-120k + 20% | Hybrid | Full-time Permanent

Role Overview

A strategic and operational HR partner to leaders and managers across a national, multi-entity organization. The HR Business Partner delivers core HR programs, employee relations support, and compliance initiatives at a national level — bringing consistency, practical expertise, and sound judgment to every business unit and location they support.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned business units and geographic locations

  • Provide practical, solutions-oriented guidance on employee relations, performance management, attendance, accommodations, and policy interpretation

  • Coach leaders on people-management responsibilities and reinforce accountability and consistency

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Manage investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans

  • Ensure progressive discipline is applied consistently and in compliance with employment legislation

  • Support performance review cycles, goal-setting, and continuous feedback processes

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Partner with hiring managers and HR colleagues to manage end-to-end recruitment including job postings, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding

  • Ensure employment agreements and onboarding practices align with legal and organizational standards

Compliance & HR Programs

  • Ensure compliance with provincial employment standards, human rights legislation, OHS requirements, and privacy regulations

  • Implement and continuously improve HR policies, programs, and processes across all locations

  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and the employee handbook nationally

HR Analytics & Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS

  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics on headcount, turnover, absences, and employee relations trends

  • Collaborate with payroll, benefits providers, and external advisors as required

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline

  • 4–6 years of progressive HR experience including employee relations and multi-province exposure

  • CHRP required; CHRL considered an asset

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation across multiple provinces

  • Experience supporting a multi-location or distributed organization an asset

  • Knowledgeable in both unionized and non-unionized Canadian labour relations environments

  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving capability and attention to detail

  • Discreet and professional when handling sensitive and confidential information

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
