Key Duties & Responsibilities
Lead & Develop Engineering Talent
Mentor, coach, and elevate all direct reports through structured performance management and individualized development plans
Build a strong leadership bench through succession planning and hands-on coaching of future managers
Bring a visible, engaged leadership style that drives accountability and strong cross-functional relationships
Drive Engineering & Operational Excellence
Establish global engineering standards, governance models, and best practices
Lead enterprise-wide initiatives focused on cost, speed-to-market, and quality
Champion digital transformation across engineering systems, automation, and AI-enabled technologies
Embed a continuous improvement / value-engineering discipline into development practices
Champion Cross-Functional Unity
Align sales, operations, support, and leadership around shared goals
Partner closely with design, project management, manufacturing, and production teams to align on deliverables
Collaborate with commercial and estimating functions to keep engineering outputs tied to business priorities
Interact across departments to safeguard client deadlines and drive continuous process improvement
Break silos, streamline communication, and enable high-velocity collaboration
Uphold Safety & Quality Standards

Oversees engineering, design, and technical documentation functions across a distributed, multi-region organization (North America + offshore teams)
Leadership / Supervision: direct reports plus accountability for outsourced engineering partners globally
Qualifications
Background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related discipline
Strong technical depth across manufacturing environments (plastics, metals, assemblies)
Advanced proficiency in industry-standard CAD and product data management tools
Comfortable leveraging AI-enabled engineering tools to improve design efficiency and decision-making
Strong understanding of ERP systems and their integration with engineering data and BOMs
Demonstrated success leading distributed global teams and managing outsourced partners
Strong executive presence with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Strong onsite presence required (GTA-based)
